Alex Michelsen, who has volunteered at Radford Mill
Farm since last summer, sums up the benefits of volunteering as part of a
gardening or conservation project.
“I have been involved in all kinds of projects at
Radford Mill Farm, from planting up polytunnels, helping to create a new
wildflower meadow, through to clearing hedges and planting trees,” said
Alex.
“There are a whole range of people who volunteer here, from people who volunteer for a day or weekend, through to those who dedicate a large part of their week to the project. There is huge amount of camaraderie amongst the volunteering team and we all share in the satisfaction of doing something really worthwhile when we transform a previously disused area.”
